We woke up early, drive around Perlis, from Kangar, then to Arau. Then we drove to Changlun to change some Thai Baht and to settle the vehicle insurance to Thailand. We then drove back to Perlis and entered Thailand thru Padang Besar.
It was supposed to be easier than Bukit Kayu Hitam. We paid some people in the customs to fill up the Thai custom forms, its RM1 for one passport.
By the time we reached Hat Yai, it was 2pm. We settled for Mac at Lee Plaza before checking to New Season Hotel. After checking in, we drove some more around Hat Yai, Mother cannot possible walk around town.
Night view from our room in New Season, our rooms are facing Lee Garden Hotel
Second day, we ate a miserable breakfast in New Season (if you are going here, please do not book with the breakfast, its not worth it!). Then off we go to Songhkla.
The Cat and Mouse Islands
The Golden Mermaid at far away background. We cannot reached here as there are lots of army in that area, they were protecting the princess who was staying in that hotel next to the beach. The Golden Mermaid was one of the places we cannot go near...
After our Songhkla trip, we went to the Hat Yai city park, where they have some Thai and Chinese temples...
The park is on a hill overlooking the city of Hat Yai
Dinner was at MJ that night. Thereafter, Mother stayed in the hotel to look after the children, Father went to the hotel massage. Vincent and I managed some me time exploring the night markets.
The last day in Hat Yai, we went for some Zebra pots purchase (as requested from Mother), then to Hat Yai Nai (above). It was the third longest sleeping Buddha in the world.
This time, we exited thru Bukit Kayu Hitam. It was as usual chaos... Father already complainted on Padang Besar, after this, he was speechless...
